What’s the progress – 3

5 Feb

Earlier this week I said I was going to upgrade the blog to ExpressionEngine. But that was a fault of me. It’s true that I’m going to use ExpressionEngine, but not for this blog. I will use it when I’ve got the time to work on my portfolio. I will keep this blog online with Wordpress. So don’t worry, the blog will stay online. I know that I made a big mistake by saying thing earlier this week.

I also said I was working on the template for my blog. Well, at the moment I’ve got some sketches (and there will follow some new one later this week), but didn’t choose one at the moment. Next week I will post another update because I’ve got some time then for working on it.

What’s the progress – 2

3 Feb

It’s a long time ago after my last post. Behind the scenes I’m working hard on my template but  it still need to be designed in Photoshop.

It isn’t designed in Photoshop because I’ve got a lot of work at the moment for school. But when I start I will post an update.

Also I’ve made a final decision which CMS I will use. It’s going to be ExpressionEngine, so the blog will be offline for a moment. Posts, including this, will be deleted. If you want to get real-time updates, follow me on Twitter (http://twitter.com/glennvanbogaert).

About the title

So here’s the first update on what I’m doing. Every time when I’ve got an update about the progress of my personal blog I’ll post it under the title What’s the progress.

The update

At the moment of posting I was brainstorming about the lay-out of the personal blog. But now, I’ve got almost everything planned from menu ’till footer. So that’s the first big step.

The next step

The next step is finding the textures, colors and thing. After that, I can start designing. But more about that in a next post.

A new year!

1 Jan

I look back to 2009 with a smile, just because I had a pretty good year. I’ve switched from Windows Vista to Mac OS, made some new friends, tried to set up my own business (but it’s an intension for 2010 too),… And I hope 2010 is also a good year. Exactly at 0:00 on 1 january 2010 I’ve made some good intensions for this year. Curious to know them? Well, here they are:

  • Finish my personal blog theme (but it will take some time)
  • Working on my personal portfolio (the same as above)
  • Buying a MacBook Pro (is that actually a good intension?)
  • Work hard for school (exams weren’t that good in December)
  • Going to Paris (it’s already known that I going to do that)

Now you know my intensions for 2010. What are yours? I’m curious to see your intensions for 2010.

    Finally, my blog is online!

    26 Dec

Finally my blog is online. But there’s still a lot of work to do. First I need to fill this website with -good- content about my personal life and about the world of webdesign. But as you can see, it isn’t my personal theme at the moment, but I’m working on it. However, it’s going to take some time. Why? Simple because I’m still learning everything and because I’m never happy with the final result of my theme in Photoshop.

Later this week I’ll post more about the progress, and maybe about other thing than the progress.
